Pacific Interventionalists specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of blood clots within the venous system. Blood clots often cause pain and swelling of the affected limb (below left). Unfortunately blood clots rarely disolve completely on their own and often lead to permanent damage of the veins. However, with proper treatment long term damage including Post Thrombotic Syndrome (see below), can be avoided!

Although many Doctors treat patients for DVTs and blood clots, we are one of the only medical groups in Southern California who specialize in comprehensive DVT and blood clot care. By obtaining an evaluation with one of our specialists, you can ensure that your DVT is being treated with the most advanced therapies and techniques available.

Our office has a vascular lab capable of performing the important ultrasound tests to check for blood clots within the legs or the arms. Our Physicians are experienced in the most advanced, state-of-the-art treatments for DVTs, including outpatient procedures used to dissolve the clot within the leg. This procedure is called 'Thrombolysis'.

The American Heart Association has made strong recommendations that any patient with certain types of blood clots should undergo the thrombolysis procedure. (Read the article here). Therefore, any patient diagnosed with a blood clot should be seen by a medical team trained in the full range of treatment options!
